“Senior Day Services” is a Social Model Adult Day Care located on the main level of the Ava Dorfman Senior Citizen’s Center.
The Social Model Adult Day Care is provided to allow individuals to remain independent in the community and active at the Senior Day Care Program with a goal of promoting their well-being. The Social Model is ideal for individuals who require some assistance or supervision with self-care, such as frail, isolated seniors, stroke victims, individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other age-related problems.
SERVICES offered include:
*Door to Door Transportation (Limited)
*Nutritious Noon Meal and Snacks
*Individual Service Plans
*Specialized Activities/Memory Stimulation
*Caregiver Support Groups
*Referrals to Human Service Agencies as needed
**Free Trial Day! (up to 3 hours)
We have flexible scheduling options! While we are open Monday thru Friday 7:30 am – 4:00 pm, participants may attend from one to five days a week, depending on the needs of the participants and/or caregivers.
COST is covered by a variety of sources. United Way of Rome & Western Oneida County allocation to the Ava Dorfman Senior Day Program allows for part of the gap in funding. Some participants are covered by the Oneida County Office for the Aging (in cooperation with the New York State Office for the Aging and the U.S. Administration on Aging), the Oneida County Health Dept., Senior Network Health, Visiting Nurses Association, Fidelis, United Health Care and Alzheimer’s Association.
Most managed Medicaids accepted.
